Business Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Regardless if you are just starting in the coaching world or have been in it for 10 years there are always questions about how to handle the business side of coaching, the administration part. Maybe you ask your self questions like…

What are coaches using for personal insurance?
How do I brand myself to really stand out from the crowd?
What are other coaches putting in their contracts?
What do I post on LinkedIn?

For the first time, ICF Chicago is hosting Business Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Join us each month for a one hour, interactive session, on topics such as social media,  contracts, accounting, marketing, etc. During the hour there will be a guest speaker who presents for 20-25 minutes then it is opened up for live discussions where you can share ideas, ask questions, gain insights on current trends.

This is open to coaches of all levels; including newer coaches who have recently finished programs. These virtual events are not recorded.

Members are free, Non-members are $10.

 May 15th Yelp & Advertising

This month's Business SIG will focus on advertising your services. First, attendees will learn best practices for completing their profile on Yelp and taking advantage of the free tools available to move the needle and be found more often by potential customers. They will also be educated on best practices for responding to online reviews and have an opportunity to ask questions of a Yelp representative. Then the conversation will open up to explore ways coaches can advertise their services.

Emily Washcovick is Business Outreach Manager at Yelp. She hosts informational sessions with local business owners across North America to educate them on best practices for navigating the world of online reviews. She works with local business owners interested in utilizing Yelp to help grow their business. She also hosts a series of webinars on subjects relevant to business owners and regularly contributes content to Yelp's "Blog for Business Owners." Emily also acts as a liaison between the small business community and the different divisions within Yelp.

Prior to joining Yelp in 2014, Emily worked for Marriott as a Front Office Manager to help coordinate events and ensure guest experience. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has lived in Pennsylvania, Cyprus and now San Francisco. She has many business owners in her family and enjoys helping small business owners everywhere.
